FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

What are your entry requirements?

Our Entry Requirements

You need 42 points from your top 8 GCSE grades.  You also require a minimum grade 4 in Maths and either English Language or Literature.  There are specific minimum grade requirements for some subjects.  See table further down on this page.

Do I need to be a Catholic?

No, only a third of our Sixth Form is Catholic.

Will I have an interview?

No, offers are made on predicted grades.

If I opt for a subject and change my mind after I have submitted, what do I do?

Contact sixthform@ndhs.org.uk and we will make any changes for you to your subject choices or, you can log onto the application system and make the changes yourself.

My combination of subjects does not fit in with the blocking. What do I do?

Please email us with the clashes if you have not already done so.  The blocking is pretty firm but if we get 10 or more students asking for the same combination we will do our best to come up with a solution.

When will I hear if I have been offered a place?

In January

Should I be thinking about University requirements?

Those considering, even remotely, a university or further education application should discover the AS and A2 Level requirements for courses for which they might later apply. Requirements vary a good deal, but it is possible to produce a short-list. UCAS has an excellent website https://www.ucas.com/  listing all UK HE courses and their entrance requirements.

The Russell Group | Home  provides valuable information about the specific A level subjects required for HE courses and should be visited before students select their A level subjects.

Entry Requirements

We have a wide range of courses available to inspire growth and to develop your skills. Entry into our 6th Form requires students to meet the entry requirements outlined in our Admissions Policy
