Year 10 - STEM Work Shop

On July 9th, the Small Piece Trust, led by Nigel, delivered an exciting STEM challenge to our Year 10 students. The challenge required them to design and construct a wind turbine capable of producing the maximum amount of electricity. Students had to develop a gearing system, design and create turbine blades to maximise output, and construct a tower to support the turbine.

This hands-on project gave our students the opportunity to apply their maths and science knowledge, along with their design skills. They worked collaboratively in teams, taking on different roles and responsibilities to achieve their goal. Nigel was highly impressed with the students' work and praised their ingenious and innovative approaches to problem-solving.

This event highlighted our students' abilities to think critically and work effectively as part of a team, showcasing their potential in STEM fields.
